Road to Revision...-Facebook post adaptation- 1 year ago I had one more MRI scan as I my knee wasn't working as it should after the first surgery... It was at 6 months after the accident and 5 months first post-op. If they would have seen back than...if they would listen to me ...
Now 8 months revision (means 2 extra surgeries to fix my knee) post-op I have almost the full range of movement back (which is not coming easy with a BTB graft) and I'm finally able to walk normally. With the help of Morgan I had the courage to challenge myself two times as a part of the recovery process : Gerecse10 long distance hiking in April and StrongDog Light - 3km trial running in September. 1 year ago it wouldn't be possible. ...

Facebook-post adaptation about StrongDog Trial Run![]() I'm still looking for words to describe our weekend as we've participated at StrongDog wild & dirty LIGHT . I'm only 7 months 3rd ACL post-op and Morgan , the Pointer spent his last couple of weeks with my family as I've been busy with collage and after that I was ill for 2,5 weeks. After all the difficulties we tried ourselves at a canicross competition for the first time ever. I'm basically shocked by Morgan's performance. I knew he'll help me through the hard parts both physically and mentally, but I could never expect what and how he did during the weekend. He just did everything like he would have years of experience at canicross competitions. In the mornings when we had to wait to our start, he was whining unbearable (I'm really sorry to everyone!), but when we were at the start line, I saw something in him, I saw a special fire. I'm superproud at and grateful to him as well. He was pulling me hard up to the hills, gently slowing down when it was necessary and choosing the best path by sense. I don't know how, but WE DID IT! Post-Op: progress, evolve I can't explain what I am feeling now and I hope none of you will ever truly understand it. AFTER 13 MONTHS, I WAS ABLE TO RIDE A BIKE AGAIN. But hey, not so fast, I shouldn't jump immediately in to the middle of the story , it's more complex than that, it is.
3 months "life changing" revision post-op, 1 year first (and unsuccessful) post-op and 13 months post-injury ... Post-Op 3weeks positiveAs an interesting fact, I'd like to share with you :
I don't believe in superstitions , but something just stuck in my mind : "One for sorrow, two for joy" . According to an old superstition, the number of magpies one sees determines if one will have bad luck. Well, as some of you know, my accident happend with/because of a magpie . S t r a n g e. 1 week "2nd post-Op", 10months post-injuryThe surface heals so fast till the inside requires so much time and so patience.
Of course I still have patches on it, it would be way too dangerous/risky without them. I've made the photo at a hospital while the nurse cleaned it and brought me new patches. |
AuthorNowadays, thanks to the internet everybody have access to nearly unlimited information. That's why I've decided at my 2 second week living with ACL injury that I'll start a blog to share my personal experiences, my days, my view, thoughts and feelings with all of you. It might be useful or even a little interesting as well. Categories
