1 week "2nd post-Op", 10months post-injuryThe surface heals so fast till the inside requires so much time and so patience. Of course I still have patches on it, it would be way too dangerous/risky without them. I've made the photo at a hospital while the nurse cleaned it and brought me new patches. So as I already mentioned it, I had the surgery last Thursday and this time they used BTB graft indeed (I thought I had BTB first time but instead of it I had Hamstring). On Friday they've made a post-op X ray and we've discussed it with my doctor who wasn't really satisfied with the position of the screw (because of the first OP it's moved a bit away from the position where he wanted it to be) He was offering to make a correctional Op just to be sure that the new graft will be as good as it can. I didn't hesitate to say "Yes". If there's any chance to have a better knee I won't hesitate to take the risks. I want to be able to do again what I love the most. This time I know I WILL. I did never ever trust any doctor like I do trust him . I don't really know why. I've read his CV several times before and after the Op. Maybe this and the way how he talked to me . As I've already spent long hours reading about ACL tear and it's treatment I know a few thing about it. He did notice that I do understand this "topic" well enough to continue our conversation with more details and more accurate details. I appreciated it , I really did.. "One day you wake up and you're in this place. You're in this place where everything feels right. Your heart is calm. Your soul is lit. Your thoughts are positive. Your vision is clear. You're at a peace, at a peace where you've been, at peace with what you've been through, and at a peace with you're headed." I excatly knew that this time I've been in the best hands. I had now both time spinal anesthesia and it's way much better than the "traditional, deep anesthesia". If any of you who're reading this have to choose soon between the two, belive me, spinal anesthesia is the best.
I've got some tranquilizer so I wasn't really conscious. At the corrective surgery I refused it, so I was wide awake. It was fine and I had the chance to watch my surgery through the arthroscope's monitor. The surgery itself and knowing that this time everything is going to be good were a great relief. Nurses also noticed the expression of vast relief filled on my face. On the morning after the surgery (both time) I was on a bending machine (not like after the first OP when I wasn't allowed to move my leg for 3 weeks) between 0 and 60 degrees although I could do a bit more. Eversince my leg is already almost better than it was 4months "1st post-op". It seems I've got a better chance this time ....
